Who we are

A global voice for disability rights in climate policy

The Caucus brings together persons with disabilities and Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) as rights-holders under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). Supportive allies committed to disability-inclusive climate action stand with them.

In February 2026 we were recognised as an Informal Group by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

What we do

Coordinated advocacy across UNFCCC processes

Our goal is to unify and strengthen the voice of all persons with disabilities in climate action, within UNFCCC processes and mechanisms.

  • Submissions and positions

Collective positions on disability rights and climate justice.

  • Disability as a key intersection

Climate change disproportionately affects people with disabilities. We push for decision-makers to recognise it.

  • Ending ableism in climate action

We name ableism in climate policy and response, and work to end it.

  • Full and meaningful participation

We call for the participation of persons with disabilities and OPDs under CRPD Article 4.3 and General Comment 7.

We recognise the intersection of disability with all aspects of identity and lived experience.
